The single thing most likely to decide whether a remote engagement works. Worth being precise about rather than optimistic.
Timezone
Oman is on UTC+4, the same as the UAE, so India is just 1.5 hours ahead — the closest clock of any Gulf market alongside the Emirates, and notably closer than Saudi Arabia, Qatar or Kuwait at 2.5 hours. Neither country observes daylight saving. Our 9:30am is your 8:00am. Within a shared working day, calls happen when convenient rather than inside a negotiated window.
Working week
Here Oman follows Saudi Arabia rather than the UAE: Sunday to Thursday, with Friday and Saturday as the weekend. So the combination is unusual — very close hours, but only four days shared against our Monday-to-Friday week. In practice that works well, because the four shared days have almost complete hour overlap rather than a narrow window. We use Sunday for asynchronous progress and written handover, and we do not schedule into your Friday.
Contracting
Private-sector engagements are typically straightforward supplier contracts. We sign client NDAs as standard and IP assignment on payment is written in. For government and oil-sector work, expect In-Country Value considerations and formal vendor registration; we will tell you plainly where an offshore supplier is disadvantaged rather than letting you discover it at evaluation. Withholding tax on payments to non-resident suppliers exists in Oman and an India–Oman tax treaty applies; treatment is a question for your tax adviser and belongs at contract stage.

Does Haqto have an office in Oman?
No. Our only office is in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India, and we serve Omani clients remotely. We hold no Omani entity or commercial registration.
How does the time difference work with Oman?

Because timezone and weekend are set independently. Oman sits on UTC+4 like the UAE, but works Sunday to Thursday like Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait — the UAE moved to Monday to Friday in 2022. The practical effect is favourable: four shared days, but with almost complete hour overlap on each of them rather than a narrow window.
Does Oman's In-Country Value programme affect working with us?
It can, in government and oil-sector procurement, where local content is weighted and a wholly offshore supplier may score poorly. We will say so plainly if your project sits in that category rather than letting you find out at evaluation stage. For private-sector work ICV is generally not a factor.
How does Oman's data protection law affect an offshore supplier?
The Personal Data Protection Law issued by Royal Decree 6/2022 has been in force since 2023 and includes consent and cross-border transfer provisions. Government and oil-sector contracts often add further requirements. Your counsel confirms what applies; we build to the controls they specify, and deploy to the regions they require.
